VetStrategy clinics nominate their favourite charities across the country

During Q3 (April – June), eight charities were nominated by Home Office and clinics across six provinces to receive IVC Evidensia Community Grants totaling $10,500. Annually, clinics have the opportunity to nominate their favourite charity or charities to receive a donation of up to $1,500. Charitable recipients can support a wide range of causes including animals, the environment, or the community.

Congratulations to our most recent recipients:

  • Carrefour Santé Animal (Sherbrooke, QC) – La cordée, ressource alternative en santé mentale ($1,500)
  • Delton Veterinary Hospital (Edmonton, AB) – Alberta SPCA’s Pet Safe Keeping program ($1,500)
  • Fairview Animal Hospital (Halifax, NS) – Canadian Cancer Society ($1,500)
  • North Hill Animal Hospital (Bolton, ON) – World Wide Vets ($1,500)
  • Torbay Animal Hospital (St. John’s, NL) – Emmaus House Food Bank ($750) and Single Parent Association of Newfoundland and Labrador ($750)
  • Valley Veterinary Services (Chilliwack, BC) – Salvation Army Food Bank ($1,500)
  • VetStrategy Home Office (Woodbridge, ON) – Card for Change ($1,500)

Dr. Paul Rubinstein (with son Asher) and Julie Churchill presented a donation of $750.00 to Emmaus House Food Bank on behalf of Torbay Road Animal Hospital.

“The full amount of funds received from VetStrategy will be used to purchase gift cards to stores providing food, coffee, toiletries, etc. These gift cards will then be distributed directly to our neighbours experiencing extreme poverty, some even living outdoors with little shelter and security,” said Evan Mintz, Co-Founder of Card for Change. “On top of the essential goods that will be purchased, the gift cards provide dignity and self-determination to the recipient. Each person who uses the cards can go to a store and purchase what they want when they want it. We cannot thank VetStrategy enough for supporting our mission to eliminating the suffering of our unhoused neighbours.”

Team members from Valley Veterinary Services (Chilliwack, BC) join Dr. Mark Steinebach (center) and the Salvation Army Food Bank’s representative Warren to present a Community Grants donation.
