12 VetStrategy clinics receive Community Grant donations

During Q4 (July – September 2023), 12 clinic teams nominated their favourite charities and non-profit organizations to receive an IVC Community Grant. From charities supporting animals in the community, to a soccer organization providing recreation opportunities to youth who otherwise couldn’t participate due to finances, to an organization empowering women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support and professional attire – the latest round of recipients is inspiring.

Our hospital teams are all smiles as they are presented with their Community Grants cheques. Featured clinics from top to bottom, left to right are: Champlain Animal Hospital, Killarney Cat Hospital, Hôpital vétérinaire Houssart, Roncy Village Veterinary Clinic, and Clinique vétérinaire Lévis (Globalvet).

“This is the first time we have applied for a Community Grant, and I love the idea that we have the autonomy to advocate and give back to a charity that needs our support,” said Roncy Village Veterinary Clinic’s Practice Manager Melanie Jennings. “We all feel as though we are making a positive difference which is extremely fulfilling. $1,500 can make a big difference in the care or services a charity has to offer – including our nominees, The Canadian Disaster Animal Response Team and Story Book Farm Primate Sanctuary.

Melanie recently visited Story Book Farm Primate Sanctuary to celebrate the donation. Story Book is the first monkey sanctuary in Canada to provide three primates previously used in research a retirement home. Other primates and lemurs in their care have been confiscated from illegal roadside zoos or surrendered as previously owned exotic pets. Hôpital vétérinaire Chambly (Chambly, QC) – Refuge le terrier, refuge pour Lapin ($1,500)

Hôpital vétérinaire St-Lambert (Saint-Lambert, QC) – Les Aristopattes ($900) and Dress for Success Montréal ($600)

Throughout the 2023 fiscal year, 47 clinics + Support Office have provided almost $70,000 in grants to local organizations working to make our communities a better place for people and animals.
