This year’s Claws for a Cause campaign in support of International Women's Day was truly inspiring. Events were held in practices from coast to coast, raising funds for local charities supporting women and girls.

For a fourth year, nail trim fundraisers were held from coast to coast inspired by International Women’s Day. Participating practices were entered into a draw to win one of three $250 donations to the charity recipient of their choice. Congratulations to Clearspring Animal Hospital (MB), Clinique vétérinaire Beauport (QC) and Don Head Village Animal Clinic (ON).

The team aimed to make a meaningful impact in honour of International Women’s Day through Claws for a Cause by raising funds to support individuals affected by domestic violence. The funds raised were donated to Agape House, an organization dedicated to providing essential resources, shelter, and assistance to those experiencing domestic violence within our community. This initiative reflected the culture we have built of compassion, unity and community engagement, demonstrating our dedication to making a positive difference in the lives of others and our community.

Tamara Bernier-Bland, Practice Manager at Clearspring Animal Hospital

‘’We appreciate you and your efforts more than words can express! Thank you again for making a difference in the lives of those we serve.’’

Tracy Whitby, Agape House Director

Celebrating International Women’s Day in our practices

  • Riverview Animal Health Centre (NB) created a collage featuring many of the incredible women on their team and shared fun facts. Did you know, 91% of the Riverview team is women! See their post here.
  • Colleagues at Rimbey Veterinary Clinic (AB) collected health care items in support of CAWES (Central Alberta Women’s Emergency Shelter) in Red Deer.

  • Many members of our Support Office in Woodbridge and Québec City proudly wore purple, showing their support for our journey towards gender equality.

Thank you to all participating team members for your commitment to giving back and being a Force for Good in our communities.
